Stepy (“the app”) is a step-counting app. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled. Short version: your data stays on your device. We have no servers, no account system, and we collect nothing.
Stepy is developed by Ruslan Lepekha. For any privacy question, contact ruslan.lepekha@gmail.com.
Stepy reads your step count from Apple Health (HealthKit), with your permission. It uses this data only to:
The app requests read-only access to step data. It does not write to Apple Health.
Nowhere. All processing happens locally on your iPhone.
Your step data is stored only by Apple Health. Stepy keeps a local copy of your recent daily step totals in a private App Group container so the widget can show your stats without opening the app. This copy never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.
Stepy’s use of HealthKit follows Apple’s requirements: health data obtained through HealthKit is never used for advertising or marketing, is never sold, and is never shared with third parties.
You can review or revoke Stepy’s access to your step data at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Stepy, or Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
Your daily step goal and similar preferences are stored locally on your device (in the app’s own storage). They are not transmitted anywhere.
When you tap Share, Stepy generates an image card from your stats and hands it to the iOS share sheet. What happens next is controlled entirely by you and the app you choose to share with — Stepy itself sends nothing.
Stepy does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
